Acrylic Wine Glasses

Wine glasses are designed specifically for wine connoisseurs to take advantage of all of wine’s unique characteristics. The design of the wine glass is meant to bring out the wine’s aroma, flavor and other characteristics.

But the standard wine glasses, made of standard glass, are not useful in every situation. Glass wine glasses are not meant to be enjoyed by the pool or at a picnic, nor are they meant to be travelled with as the glass is usually sensitive enough that it risks shattering from even the slightest bump. Acrylic wine glasses come in the same shapes and sizes as their glass counterparts, but they are made of a thicker material known as Polymethyl Methacrylate. It is more durable than glass which makes it a much better alternative when travelling with it or keeping it in a tightly enclosed space. They tend to be cheaper (not always) which makes them more expendable should you want to take them with you into a public area.

But what makes the Acrylic wine glasses most useful is for households with small children or pets. Polymethyl Methacrylate does not shatter when dropped. Instead, it breaks into large, dull pieces – with no sharp chips or dull edges that threaten to risk a small child’s health.

Acrylic wine glasses are as aesthetically pleasing as the glass alternatives, as easy to clean (scratches can be removed by simply wiping down the glass) and come in the same shapes and sizes as standard wine glasses. They also have the same visibility levels, so your wine will look equally as delicious through either glass, with Acrylic the safer alternative.
