Contemporary Bar Stools

Bar stools have become more than simply ways to sit high on a table. They have made their way into the home and have become a way to express your individuality and match your décor. They are made to be sleek and stylish, easily fitting with the way you have decorated your home, and a way to have a place to sit with guests that is both casual and fun.

Contemporary Style

Contemporary bar stools come in many styles, though they usually have a common theme. Few of them try to match the standard swivel bar stool style, one that usually involves a circular mat with no backing to the chair. Instead, contemporary bar stools appear to play with the idea of the chair, without actually creating a chair back.

For example, there are contemporary bar stools that take the circular design of the swivel chairs, but expand it to have a round back so that the chair has a clear front, though the design allows the individuals sitting on the stool to be social.

Most of these contemporary bar stools are made with more “futuristic” coloring, in that they are rarely made of wood. Rather, they are made using metal and decoration, usually silver and dark colors like black. Many contemporary bar stools use the frames for the design (for example, the back of the stool may be a flower) while the seat itself is relatively plain, with a power color like red or black to give the stool some elegance.

Contemporary bar stools are easy to spot because they are often curved and unusual, meant to stand out while still blending with the surroundings. Out and about you will most likely find them at upscale bars and restaurants, where style and elegance help justify the inappropriately priced drinks.
