Custom Designed Martini Glasses
The design of most household dishes has recently been leaning more eclectic, and many people are looking for glasses that do not fit the standard mold of what the glass should look like so that they can share a unique style with their guests.
In that same vein, custom designed martini glasses have recently been booming in popularity, because with their long stems and unique angled shape, they are able to be altered without affecting their functionality.
Examples of Unique Martini Glasses
To start, many of the newer martini glasses have unusually curved stems. Sometimes these stems are wavy, sometimes they are jagged, and sometimes they are curved to look almost parabolic. The stems are designed not only for originality, but sometimes to match the style of a gathering. For example, Hawaiian themed parties are far more likely to have curved martini glasses than straight martini glasses as they give the impression of being more relaxed.
The bowl of the glass is commonly customized and has many ways for this customization to take place. Disregarding color, the bowls of these glasses often have custom designs – they may be hand painted, as is the case for many martini glasses, or they may be branded. Many businesses use custom designed martini glasses with their own brands on them to hand to customers as a marketing gimmick.
Similarly, sometimes the glasses is carved or shaved into with certain designs that roll around the bowl of the cup as though an artist took a laser to its edge. These engravings are often creation to allow light to reflect differently through the glass, though the engravings can also be another way of branding without having to paint the glass.
Martini glasses are meant to serve the same function as wine glasses, in that they are meant to be very drinkable, with a long stem that prevents warming of the alcohol inside. But unlike wine glasses, the importance of the martini glass is in its design, not its function.
