Granite Pub Tables
Anyone that has been to a local bar will recognize a pub table. These small round tables are designed to allow good friends to sit in a circle together with their drinks down and relax. In addition, the lack of sharp edges mean less drunken bumping and easier maneuvering, so while they are more commonly known for their simplicity and aesthetics, they do serve a function as well.
Bars, however, must always worry about messes. With so many glasses going around and so much drinking, it can be difficult to keep each table clean and looking nice. Wooden tables at bars often need cleaning or resurfacing if they are expected to stay nice, and although some bars choose to have a wooden table in order for the pub itself to look more “aged” (thanks to the carvings and circles that are bound to occur over time), many pubs would like to keep their establishments as nice as possible.
That is why granite pub tables have become so popular of late. Granite is far more difficult to damage and able to withstand heavy amounts of wear and pressure.
For bar owners, granite bar tables mean less visible mess, as the granite itself helps mask the appearance of lines and splotches from spilled and messy beverages. Granite itself is also easy to clean with a quick wiping with a cloth usually doing the trick. It is less likely to be carved up by knives and it is usually able to withstand pen markings as well.
Their sturdiness is also useful, allowing them to last for a long time without needing a replacement. For bar owners, this means far less inventory to help keep prices down. Thanks to their round design, pub tables also allow for a better fit in small spaces, as people often weave in and out of most pubs and bars. Since the granite pub tables are stronger than others, the occasional trip or stumble is less likely to harm the table’s exterior.
Most bar owners now are switching to granite pub tables in order to cut down on future costs and to help their bars appear cleaner, and clearly this decision is a good one.
