Large Wine Glasses

These days, most people like a drink or two on a night out or at a party, and even more people like those drinks to be large. As such, large wine glasses are becoming a much more common sight in pubs, bars and restaurants the world over, and they’re becoming increasingly popular for home use as well.

Large wine glasses have a number of distinct advantages, the most obvious one being their size. Because of that fact, large wine glasses have the ability to hold a lot more wine in than regular-sized glasses, which is a definite plus in most people’s eyes!

By having larger wine glasses at a party, the host will also have to re-fill their guests’ drinks less often, which gives everyone more time for socialising and drinking and less time worrying about getting their glasses re-filled. This can be a definite plus for hosts, who will often find that they have to act as waiter or waitress instead of being able to enjoy the party. But, by investing in bigger wine glasses they’re able to be the perfect host; they can keep everyone entertained and make sure that their glasses are full for longer, all at the same time!

So What's The Cost?

Large wine glasses can sometimes cost more than regular-sized wine glasses, but that isn’t always the case. As with most things nowadays, budget glassware ranges are always available from plenty of different outlets, and budget or cheap wine glasses will be no exception. So if price is a factor, always make sure to take a look around to find the best deals on large wine glasses – you’re bound to be able to find just what you’re looking for at a price you can afford.

However, one disadvantage to these glasses is that you’ll often find that they’re a lot easier to break than regular-sized wine glasses. This is often thanks to their larger bowl size. We all know how easy it is to snap the stem of a wine glass, even those that are small, so imagine how much easier it will be to snap the stem of a glass that’s even bigger than normal? That extra weight will have an effect on its durability, so if you’re thinking of holding a particularly alcohol-fuelled party than having large wine glasses might not be the way to go, at least if you want to have them all in one piece at the end of the night.

Even though there’s the odd chance of breaking your large wine glasses, investing in a few is still well worth considering. So long as you use them on occasions where it hopefully won’t get too rowdy you shouldn’t need to worry, and all of your guests are sure to appreciate the option of larger wine glasses over regular ones!
