Discount Cocktail and Evening Dresses
You want to look like you spent a fortune when you go to
that special occasion, but you don’t want to have actually spent
a fortune to be there. So, how do you get the look you want, on a tight
budget?
First you need to shop around. There may well be a sale
going on in a department store that will help you find the perfect
cocktail dress at a discounted price.
If that's not working, look towards second hand stores.
There are many special occasion second hand stores that offer clothing
items that have been lovingly used once or twice, at a fraction of the
price they would have been if you purchased them new. Many times you
would never know they had been worn before, and will feel as if you
have a brand new dress, even though you didn't have to pay that brand
new dress price.
Another option is to find a dress that is a very basic
which may not cost as much as a dressy piece, and dress it up yourself.
If you are handy with a needle and thread or sewing machine, you may
want to add beaded accents or an appliqué. The other way to
dress up a simpler cocktail or evening dress is to use accessories and
accent items you may already have. A rhinestone brooch, shimmering
necklace and earrings set, designer clutch purse, sexy stilettos, stole
or wrap can make that simple dress seem much fancier.
