Frozen Drink Recipes

There are a number of frozen drink recipes that you can make that are just perfect for a summer’s day. Frozen drinks can be particularly refreshing and are the ideal way to cool off, and frozen drinks with a kick can be even more appealing.

Frozen cocktails can be a great alternative to usual cocktail recipes. Blended with plenty of ice, these cocktails are particularly thick and often have additional ingredients such as cream, ice cream or fruit. Frozen cocktails are often less alcoholic than regular cocktails, largely thanks to the amount of ice that’s used in them, so they can be perfect for people looking for a great taste without the after-effects of stronger cocktails.

There are a whole range of frozen drink recipes to choose from, many of which are variants of traditional cocktail recipes. These are just two recipes that can be tried at home.

Frozen Margarita

To make a great tasting frozen margarita, simply blend 1 measure of tequila, 1 measure of Cointreau and a splash of lime juice with plenty of ice. Once blended, serve in a salted martini glass and garnish with a slice of lime.

Frozen Bellini

This champagne-based cocktail is particularly light and is surprisingly easy to make once you have the ingredients. Simply blend 0.5 measures of peach schnapps with a splash of fresh lemon juice and half a cup of frozen peaches. Once blended, pour into a champagne glass and top up with 1.5 measures of dry champagne before garnishing with frozen peaches.

There are many other frozen drink recipes that can be tried at home, many of which simply require the maker to blend the cocktail with ice rather than shaking the ingredients together. It’s definitely worth trying at home and can result in a great tasting, refreshing cocktail.
