Cocktail parties are classier events than just a bunch of people sitting on a sofa and downing beers. A nice glass cocktail table has that class. Glass furniture adds a crisp and even chic look to a room. Not to mention how beautifully it will shine when the light hits it.

The other thing to keep in mind is the space you have available. You don't have to buy a large cocktail table and try to squeeze people around it. That will just be uncomfortable.
