Cocktail Party Food

The key to successful cocktail party food is variety. You want people sampling things rather than gorging on a single item, this way you promote conversation, allow guest to consistently get more of what they like, and allow the food to be a part of the party for much longer (since it is difficult to have the standard “meal” when there are so many foods to try).

Tapenade and Crackers

A quick snack, Tapenade and crackers is a delicious way to entertain your guests:

Ingredients:

  • 1 Jar of Tapenade (You can make Tapenade yourself, but it takes much more time)
  • Provolone Cheese
  • 1 Package of Crackers, rice crackers preferred
  • 1 Jar of Pimento strips

Tapenade provides most of the flavor in this piece, so the key is decoration. If you cut the provolone into thin slices (about 1/8 an inch square) and place atop your cracker, followed by ¼ a teaspoon of tapenade and a pimento strip and you have a delicious snack that was easy to make and looks delicious.

Party Punch Fruit

Bruschetta with Cherry Tomatoes

Bruschetta is another tasty snack which can also be filling, so making a great deal of this type of food is a good idea if you are worried your guests may not be eating enough.

Ingredients:

  • 1 loaf of semolina bread
  • 4 cups of cherry tomatoes
  • Garlic oil
  • Mozzerella

Directions:

  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees
  • Cut the Semolina bread into ½ inch thick slices, and place them in the oven for 5-10 minutes for each side to toast until a golden brown.
  • Cut the tomatoes through the stern ends. Remove any stems.
  • Heat 5 tablespoons of garlic oil in a skilled and add the tomatoes, stirring until soft. This process should take about 5 minutes. Feel free and add salt and pepper if necessary.
  • Take the tomatoes and oil and spoon them onto the bread. Quickly add some grated mozzarella on top so that it melts from the heat.
  • Turn down the oven to 250 degrees and place the bruschetta back in for about 3 to 4 more minutes to allow for some of the cheese to melt.

Serve and enjoy.
