Ingredients

  • 8 Cups of Milk
  • 1½ Gallons of Vanilla Ice Cream
  • 2 Cups of Green Crème De Menthe
  • 12 of Candy Canes

Instructions

Don’t limit the Holiday Mint Punch recipe to the holidays. Those that enjoy an extra minty flavor in their alcoholic punch recipes will find that the holiday mint punch will taste delicious year round, even when the holidays are long since over.

Designed to be served cold, to make the holiday mint punch you should put all 8 cups of milk, 1 gallon of ice cream (save the remaining half gallon), and all of the green crème de menthe into a punch bowl. Stir vigorously allowing the vanilla ice cream to melt as you do until the entire mixture is pourable. Garnish with the candy canes around the punch bowl if you like or allow people to stick them in their drinks. Instruct your guests to add a small scoop of the remaining vanilla ice cream into their glass so that it floats on top.

A Shake of a Punch

The taste of this resembles a milk shake more so than a standard punch recipe, but it tastes delicious so you are unlikely to see your guests complaining. You can also add more crème de menthe for extra flavor and some people have tried adding chocolate syrup for varying success.

The dish is meant to be somewhat thick, so you may want to chill your punch bowl if possible beforehand in order to ensure it is able to keep the punch cold in case you are not serving it right away. In addition, while the vanilla ice cream is supposed to melt, it should not melt too much to the point of being watery. You also may want to keep whip cream on hand for those that would prefer whip cream over ice cream (as well as if some guests take too large a scoop and you run out of ice cream.

Regardless, the Holiday Mint Punch continues to be a popular alcoholic punch recipe that is especially delicious over the holidays and beyond.
